8 shot news package
To get an idea of how to use different shots in news packages we have looked at a clip on YouTube and re-created it.
We have found this useful as it has given us some practice on how to use different shots that are typically used in news packages.

Opening Sequence - CLSR
Here is our second draft of our opening sequence. We decided to improve our opening sequence and made it more interesting for the audience to view. We did this by having driving appropriate signs flying across the screen and having a time laps on the footage used to make it more interesting and eye catching so that the audience will be gripped right from the beginning of our news package.
Also the opening sequence now make more sense as it has footage which is appropriate to what our news package is, therefore it would give the audience more knowledge about what they are about to watch.

The 8 shot news package - Sophia
Today we did the 8 shot news package challenge and we had to watch a clip and recreate what we saw with in an hour. The only thing we had difficulties doing was transferring our footage from the phone the the Mac computer , we had to first put it in a memory stick and then transfer it onto the computer ready for editing.

Presentation - clsr
This is the presentation of our idea for the news package. Some of the reasons that we chose
our ideas were because they were the main ideas of driving and all the things that would be included in a young or new driver. it would give them all the information needed to help them with insurance, statistics of new drivers and how to apply and take their test.

We showed our class our first draft of our opening sequence , and they gave us feed back on how to improve it and make it better. They also gave us ways to make it more imaginative and on how to make it more engaging for the audience and link better with our theme of ' Driving'. I have mae a prezi on all the feedback that was given and the improvements that should be made.

Sound - Sophia
When we originally decide on sound were looking on YouTube for different car sounds and we were going to merge them into one tracking and adding in our own sound on garage band too however once we had put all together the track didn't sound right over our footage so we had to completely scrap that idea. Below are some of the different car noises we were going too add in .
Car Honking Sound
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBlGg77LMBo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2V753xY96Yg
Car Engine Noises
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaR674ik-7M
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIOdS7XbHys
Car Indicator Noises - We found that YouTube didn't have enough variety of what we could be using in our opening sequence and so we then decided to over come this problem by going to record ourselves in one of our cars using the indicator and then taking that sound and adding it into garage band.
Car Skidding Sound Effect -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3ONSyR82qE
Windscreen wipers -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=II1pcqUrXSM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nb-bk7X5PWQ
However - After adding these all into garage band and trying to make the track more news friendly was difficult as it didn't sound professional or anything like a news opening sequence , we then tried to over come this by just making a soundtrack and then adding in a few sound effects along the way but this just interrupted the flow of the sequence. In the end we just took out the car sound effects and leaving in the soundtracks along with making new parts to the music to make it more specialised to our theme of 'Driving'.

How niche is your niche research task - Sophia
I looked online to see many other competitors news and how many there were and to see the sorts of news they were delivering , so that that we could revive what sorts of new we were goi h to deliver and to e.g what our target audience would be , and after looking on different websites and other YouTube channels we decided that our best target audience would be teenagers and they are the most likly new drivers and would needs the most information on just getting started , they are also more like to be looking through YouTube channels as they are digital natives.
